Westward Ho! We start west.

We spent our first weekend in Knoxville with my sister and brother "by love". On Sunday, we went and visited my nephew Michael and his sweet family. The kids loved showing off their skills for pictures in the gym. I had made a quilt for Michael and Jenni to use in their newly redone master suite so had to get a "posed" picture.

Afterward we went to Old Town Knoxville to hear my nephew Brock's band called Brockerfellows play some old time country music. He is going to being playing steel guitar in a play about Hank Williams that UT is putting on in September.  Just as the performance was to start, there were tornado warnings and reports of 2-3" hail! Halfway throught the performance, a big window was blown open and at the same time electricity went out. Made for a few nervous moments as the kids were herded under tables. As Fred. "He brought the house down"!

Love this family!

On Monday we drove to Nashville. Our first stop was the Lane Automobile Museum. The owner first got interested in old cars because of MGs, TFs in particular (which is what I have). His Dad gave him the parts of a TF when he was 12 and told him to figure out how to build. He did and took his driving test in it. They had lots of "small cars"

This one has no side doors but a trunk like door on front & back.

This car can be driven in either direction thus steering wheels front & back!

Around 2:00 8 I got a call from my sister Nancy. They were driving back to Florida after spending almost 2 months out west. I thought we weren't going to see them but they left Oklahoma City early this morning. We ended up eating dinner at Caney Fork Fish camp.....although we all had their delicious ribs. Dessert was make your own s'mores. Sierra had fun eating those!

Tomorrow we head to Hannibal, MO., the childhood home of Mark Twain. To get ready for our visit, we have been listening to Tom Sawyer.
