Cape Disappointment wasn't disappointing!

Tracy and Dan spent the night with us in Long Beach. Dan had to leave early to go to work but Tracy spent the day with us. First stop was a delicious breakfast at Cottage Bakery. No doubt there will be a return visit tomorrow morning. We walked through a couple of the stores and then down to the kite destination. The pictures don't really do justice to the number and complexity. They had kite trains & European arches.

Over 1000 kites in this display!

We went to North Head Lighthouse next. The marine layer had started clear & the views were beautiful.  Small interesting museum about innkeepers, their duties & pay.  One point they made was that while the wives were employees, they still were subject to inspections!

The next thing on our to do list was the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. Interesting exhibits and movie about the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Next year is the 200th anniversary. We have been on various sections of the route they explored. We then hiked down & up to the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. We had seen one helicopter off on the distance. On our way back we thought we heard another one. Took a bunch of pictures as they were doing different procedures. Turns out it was Dan that was going into the water!!!

Dead Man's Cove

Dan came over after work & we went to dinner at Under Roos. They had a delicious Dungeness crab dish with Tillamook Cheddar. Good thing we did a lot of walking today.
